Troubleshooting Outlook Express Error 0x800420CB

You may get the following error message:

  • Message Could Not Be Opened From Outbox Folder, Account: mail.prodigynet.co.uk.
  • MailAccount',Server:relay.prodigynet.co.uk', Protocol:SMTP,Port:25,Secure(SSL):No, Error Number:0x800420CB

    Solution
    The usual cause of this problem is an Outbox.dbx file which has become corrupted. To fix it,
  • Click Tools
  • then Accounts
  • Click the Mail tab
  • Click a duplicate mail account, and then click Remove . Keep doing this until all duplicates have been removed.
  • Click Close

    If you are still having problems with this error message. Try deleting the Outbox.dbx file, although please note this will permanently delete any messages still in the outbox.
  • Close Outlook Express.
  • Right-click the Start button on your PC's desktop
  • Click Find or Search
  • Search for the Outbox.dbx file
  • Right-click the file, click Delete, and then click Yes
  • Start Outlook Express, and then try again




    Troubleshooting Outlook Express Error 0x800CCC0F

    When you start Outlook Express or try to send an e-mail message, you may get the following error message:

  • Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'mail.greenmobile.co.uk', Server: 'relay.prodigynet.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

    Solution
    This problem is often modem related. The first step is to;

  • Check your Outlook Express settings, making sure that the POP3 and SMTP servers are as in the email setup screenshots, and that your full user name and password are correct. (Tip. Watch out for commas in place of full points).
  • If your problem has still not been resolved uninstall and reinstall your Broadband modem. For information on how to do this please refer to the ADSL modem setup instructions or the installation cd that was provided with your modem

  • If you're still having problems, it could be that Outlook Express is itself corrupt. This can be fixed by reinstalling Outlook Express.Outlook Express can be reinstalled by downloading the Internet Explorer setup program from the Microsoft website




    Troubleshooting Outlook Express Error 0x800CCC79/0x800CCC7D

    You may get the following error message:

  • 'The server does not support a SSL connection. Account; mail.prodigynet.co.uk Server relay.prodigynet.co.uk.' Protocol SMTP, server response '250 HELP' Port; 25, Secure (SSL) Yes, Server Error 250, error number 0x800CCC7D.'
  • "The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'test@hotmail.com' . Subject 'How are you?', Account: 'Test (Resource)', Server: 'smtp.xxxxxxx.xxx', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 relaying to prohibited by administrator', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

    Solution
    This problem happens because your version of Outlook Express is set up to use a Secure Socket Layer (SSL). To fix this problem:

  • Open Outlook Express, and click Tools
  • Then click on Accounts
  • Then click on your Resource connection and click Properties
  • Then click Advanced
  • On this screen remove the checks from the boxes This server requires a secure connection for both Outgoing mail (SMTP) and Incoming mail (POP3).
  • Bear in mind that you should be using a dial-up connection number 0,38 or p0,38 and that the outgoing mail server is mail.prodigynet.co.uk
    You will then be able to collect your mail.




    Troubleshooting Outlook Express Error 0x800CCC90/91

    You may get the following error message:

  • There was a problem logging onto your mail server.
  • Your UserName was rejected. Account: 'mail.greenmobile.co.uk', Server: 'pop3.norton.antivirus', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90

    Error Number: 0x800CCC91

    Solution
    This error message is caused by the fact that you have set an anti virus program, in this case Norton AntiVirus, to scan all emails automatically.Changing the settings within Outlook Express will not solve the issue. You need to go into your Norton Antivirus Control Panel and change the settings there.




    Troubleshooting Outlook Express Error 0x800CCC92

    You may get the following error message:

  • There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected.'pop.greenmobile.co.uk', Server: 'pop.greenmobile.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR invalid user or password', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

    Solution
    Check your Outlook Express settings, making sure that the POP3 and SMTP servers are as in the email setup screenshots, and that your full username and password are correct. If you are still having problems, it could be that your password has somehow become corrupted. Delete your password in accounts and re-enter.




    Troubleshooting Outlook Express Error 0x800C0131

    When you start Outlook Express or try to send an e-mail message, you may get one of the following error messages:
  • MSIMN caused an invalid page fault in module Msoe.dll
  • MSIMN caused an invalid page fault in module "unknown"
  • MSIMN caused an invalid page fault in module Directdb.dll
  • Msimn caused an exception C0000006h in module Directdb.dll
  • Outlook Express: The message could not be sent. There is not enough Disk space.
  • Unknown error has occurred. Protocol: SMTP Port: 0 Secure: No [SSL] Error: 0x800c0131

    Solution
    The usual cause of this error is a missing or damaged folders.dbx file. Either that or it is using a read only attribute. To fix this bug:
  • Click Start
  • then Find
  • then click Files or Folders.
  • In the Named box, type folders.dbx.
  • In the Look In box, click your main hard disk (this is usually drive C), and then click Find Now.
  • Right-click the Folders.dbx file, and then click Rename.
  • Type folders.old, and click OK.
  • Start Outlook Express again. This creates a new Folders.dbx file automatically.
